Astrix On-Demand Webinar – Achieving True Collaboration Why Scientific Workflows Break at the Handoff

About this Webinar

Most labs have good systems and broken workflows. The ELN is built to be the best possible ELN, the LIMS to be the best possible LIMS, and neither is built for what happens between them. Science does not respect those boundaries, so the scientist becomes the integration layer: copying, reformatting and reconciling by hand, while the intent and metadata that gave the data meaning stay behind. Around 40% of their time goes on data plumbing rather than discovery. The usual response is more training and firmer mandates, and the shadow spreadsheets come back anyway. This session argues that adoption is a symptom of design quality rather than a change management problem, and shows what changes when the workflow, not the screen, becomes the unit of design. We walk through where collaboration actually breaks, which is the handoff and where the scientific narrative crosses a system boundary.
